Celebrating National Rum Punch Day


September 20th is National Rum Punch day and what better way to celebrate it, then to indulge in one of the Caribbean’s most popular drinks. Here are a few recipes for rum punch from different islands that you can sip on for your own personal Happy Hour


Jamaican Rum Punch


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Rum

  • 1/2 cup Dark Rum

  • 2 1/2 cups Pineapple Juice

  • 2 1/2 cups orange juice

  • 3 TBSP Grenadine Syrup

  • 1/4 cup Lime Juice

  • Ice Cubes

Combine all ingredients and server over ice


Barbados Rum Punch


INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 ½ cups Guava Nectar

  • 1 1/2 cup Rum

  • 2 1/2 cups Pineapple Juice

  • 1/2 pink grapefruit juice or juice of grapefruit

  • 1/4 cup Lime Juice

  • Ice Cubes

Mix in larger pitcher and share


Trinidadian Rum Punch


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup raw sugsr

  • ½ cup water

  • 1 Tbsp Angostura bitters

  • 2 – 2 ½ cups Dark Rum

  • ½ cup Lime Juice

  • ½ cup citrus juice of choice

  1. In a small saucepan, dissolve water and sugar on medium heat. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. In a pitcher, combine rum, juices, bitters, and syrup.

  3. Fill glasses half-full with ice. Pour punch.
